Here's a Zen story.
A monk asks "What is the most important part of a cup?"
A student replies "The handle." The monk shakes his head.
Another student replies the sides - the monk shakes his head. Another student says the bottom - still the monk shakes his head.
Finally, the students are silent. The monk says "The most important part of the cup is the space that it creates."
Last Friday the space was built, and into that container flowed open hearts. I was reminded of the spirit that is unleashed at Arete, all luminous and free, and found renewal. Once again the world seems like a place of possibility.
Mad props to the peeps who made it happen.
