What are you thoughts on developing the greater Arete community?
I know we have a Arete Grads party coming up some time later this year, which I've heard will be kicking off something more community-oriented. That sounds like a fantastic idea to me.
We have a big horde of people who have taken Arete, and gotten a heavy dose of what community can be. They each have their own circle of people, and a big mailing list for announcements, and some people get together to do production from time to time. Many folk are involved with The Community, or the Rhythm Society, or Spiral Muse, or various Men's & Women's circles.
But it seems there's potential for more there. I think there could be more conversation, connection, and development amongst the community as a whole. Jerry and I have been talking about creating more email lists to allow for cross-talk, sharing, and topics other than Arete-related announcements.
Are you excited about the idea of developing this community as a whole? What inspires you as a vision? Would you rather leave things as they are. I'm curious to hear some dialog on this.

Re: Arete Community
06/24I definitely feel a space available for an email list that has a sense of community and conversation to it.
(Damn Jon you are showing up strong and powerfully all over the place! Right on Brother)

Re: Arete Community
07/14Hi Jon,
I am so excited about the prospects of Arete as a community flexing its muscles so to speak. I have been having visions of all of us coming together and powerfully crafting an answer to what we see missing in "mainstream" society. Imagine a living breathing example of what we envision community to be.
Thanks for bringing this up even if I am coming to it a month late.

Re: Arete Community
11/24I'd love to see this community solidify and come together for more social events, circle discussions (bringing the men and women togehter), and for nights to talk about our Arete and how it is woven into our lives and next steps.
In addition, to have Jerry, Guy, Kat, HR and any other course leaders to be available on line and in person for monthly Arete conversations.
Oh! Oh! AND LAND!!! To bring together all of us passionate about land to create a collage and vision for what is possible and make it happen by December 2005.
That's all ;)
